The Bulls go down to hardworking Anstey Nomads

Match Review: Anstey Nomads (H)

The Bulls had a massive task on their hands, with a trip to Ilkeston to face second in the league Anstey Nomads.

Mansfield started the game reasonably well passing the ball around with confidence.

Ethan Hulley played a delightful looking ball to Sean Devlin who couldn't control the speed of the pass and the ball was eventually was cleared away by Nomads.

Then the quality of our opponents shown with a classy goal from Michael Reeve to open the scoring with a low hit driven shot beating keeper Richard Dearle.

A defensive error lead to Nomads second of the night, with Corey Armeni scoring in the Bulls 6-yard box following an attempt to clear the ball.

The Bulls showed heart by not slowing down their work rate on the pitch chasing Anstey for a goal to make things interesting before the break.

However, it was Nomads Luis Rose who got the third following a rocket of a shot from outside the area which the keeper could do very little to keep out.

In the second half Nomads controlled the game and their hard work was rewarded with another strike from Armeni who chipped the ball over the keeper which ended a frustrating night for the Bulls.
