AFC Mansfield are back in action as we welcome Kimberley Miners Welfare in the FA Vase, with a place in the next round up for grabs.

We head into the tie with confidence following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Retford United in the FA Cup last time out. In a closely contested game, we had to remain patient before eventually finding the breakthrough through Ryan Ingram, who reacted quickest to head home after Max Taylor’s deflected effort looped into his path.

We had created chances before the opener, with Zach Reynolds causing problems down the right-hand side and Charlie Taylor going close with a header, while goalkeeper Turton was also called into action as Retford looked to threaten at the other end.

Once ahead, we showed plenty of determination to protect our narrow advantage, holding firm during the closing stages to keep a clean sheet and secure our place in the next round of the FA Cup.

That victory followed a competitive run of fixtures which has also seen us claim an impressive 3-2 away win against Aylestone Park and battle to an entertaining 3-3 draw at Eastwood CFC, before a 2-0 defeat against Hucknall Town.

Injury concerns continue for the Bulls heading into the weekend, with Rhys Dolan, Liam Mays and Will Heather all ruled out. Their absence will give the squad another test as we prepare for an important cup tie.

Attention now turns to the FA Vase, where we will be looking to take the positives from our cup victory into another important knockout fixture. Kimberley Miners Welfare will provide a tough test, but we will be hoping to make home advantage count and continue our cup momentum.
