Ingram Double Helps AFC Mansfield See Off Kimberley

AFC Mansfield started well, with Charlie Fox pouncing on a loose ball after just seven minutes, only to see his effort initially saved before Kimberley cleared the danger. Their next opportunity came from a Fox corner, which was driven into the box and cleverly dummied, allowing Ryan Ingram to latch onto the ball before dragging his shot just wide of the post.

Kimberley responded with a good spell of passing, which ended with a cross into the box that was safely gathered by AFC Mansfield goalkeeper Turton.

The opening goal arrived after 16 minutes when Daniel Shelbourne’s shot was spilled by the goalkeeper, with Ryan Ingram in the right place at the right time to tuck home and give AFC Mansfield the lead.

However, their advantage lasted just four minutes, as Lewis Partridge’s looping header found the top corner to bring Kimberley level.

Right before half-time, Ingram was involved once again, but his left-footed effort sailed over the bar.

In truth, Kimberley started the second half well, with Joe Godfrey managing to find his way past the AFC Mansfield defenders before dragging his shot wide.

Minutes later, Turton was called into action again as Godfrey got a first-time shot away, but the AFC Mansfield goalkeeper produced a good save to push the effort out of harm’s way.

AFC Mansfield regained the lead in the 56th minute when Luke Morgan played Ryan Ingram through, with the winger making no mistake as he finished calmly to score his second goal of the game.

With 85 minutes played, Jacob Dainty scored AFC Mansfield’s third and final goal with a composed finish, beating two Kimberley players before finding the net to round off the scoring and seal a 3-1 victory.
