AFC Mansfield appoint club captain Phil Buxton as Manager.


AFC Mansfield can confirm that the Bulls have appointed club captain Phil Buxton as first-team Manager


Phil Buxton first joined AFC Mansfield as a player back in 2012 and has gone on to have a decorated non-league career.


Buxton has made over 300 appearances for the club, helping the Bulls rise up the leagues and gaining promotion from the NCEL Division One back in 2016.


In 2020 Buxton was made joint U21s manager and oversaw nine matches in total, most recently,

First team manager Buxton said


"I'm extremely happy and proud to be appointed the manager of AFC Mansfield it's obviously a club that I know very well and I thank the chairman for trusting me with the position"


Buxton also went on to praise his former Manager Matt Chatfield and the staff at the Forest Town Arena.


AFC Mansfield can also confirm that Joe Kearney will be joining him the dug out, Kearney holds a UEFA B licence.
