The Bulls progressed to the quarter-finals of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup after edging past East Midlands Football League side Teversal.
Goals from Ollie Fearon and Joe Iaciofano in both halves helped AFC see off any potential upset by the side who knocked them out of the competition last season.
On the back of a respectable 2-2 draw with Wisbech in the Evo-Stik NPL East Division, a tweaked starting line-up handed starts to 'keeper Tom Crosby, defenders Mark Dudley and Julian Lawrence, and midfielders Ellis Wall and Charlie Dawes.
It took just ten minutes for the Bulls to open the scoring against their opponents from two tiers down, with Joe Iaciofano grabbing his 12th goal of his loan spell.
The visitors, to their own credit, kept the score tight for virtually the entire game, but Ollie Fearon made sure of a place in the quarter-final draw when he found the net on 87 minutes.
The date for the final eight draw is yet to be announced.
