PREVIEW | Silsden (A)

The Bulls travel to Silsden tomorrow in hope of ending their poor record away from home.

AFC are still yet to win a league game away from home, coming minutes away from three points at in-form Liversedge in their last away day before a late equaliser was bundled home.

Matt Chatfield's side are hosted by Silsden on Saturday afternoon on the back of a deserved 2-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Athersley Recreation, with Ross Duggan and Phil Buxton amongst the goals.

The Bulls could leapfrog Handsworth into 14th position in the NCEL Premier Division table with a victory tomorrow afternoon, as long as the Ambers go away empty-handed from their encounter with Albion Sports.

The tie kicks off at the Cobbydale Construction Stadium at 3pm.

Last Time Out

Matt Chatfield saw his side return to winning ways at the Forest Town Arena last weekend, at the expense of bottom side Athersley on a stormy afternoon.

Returning skipper Phil Buxton, who had just served a three-match suspension, opened the scoring when Morgan James' square pass bobbled into Buxton's path before the midfielder rifled low past Michal Antkowiak.

The two sides continued to brave the horrendous conditions and AFC remained on top in an impressive first-half display, as Ross Duggan curled home his 33rd goal of the season in all competitions from just inside the penalty area.

Hugo Warhurst then pulled off a sensational penalty save, his second in five days, to deny Thomas Foltyn-Brown from 12 yards before AFC's Kian Sketchley and Athersley's Jack Briscoe were both sent off for a touchline scrap.

The Opposition

After going on a four-match NCEL Premier Division losing streak, Saturday's hosts have made a recent recovery in form, now unbeaten in three with seven points from a possible nine.

But currently in 13th position, a push for promotion seems all but impossible now for Silsden, who look to secure as high a finish as possible.

The Cobbydalers enjoyed their most recent and first ever encounter with AFC, coming from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw at the Forest Town Arena with a very late Mark Everingham free-kick.

Team News

New signing Jon D'Laryea, who rejoins from Long Eaton United after departing the Forest Town Arena last summer, goes straight into the squad to face Silsden in a move to bolster the squad.
