PREVIEW | Hanley Town (H)

The Bulls return their attention to the Buildbase FA Vase as Hanley Town visit the Forest Town Arena.

A slender 1-0 victory over Graham Street Prims back at the end of August, thanks to an injury-time winner from Ross Duggan, set up a local derby with Rainworth Miners Welfare.

The Second Qualifying Round tie proved to be one for the AFC history books, as the Bulls came from two goals down to beat ten-man Rainworth with an 83rd minute winner from Brandon Webster.

Kick-off against Hanley takes place at 3pm.

Last Time Out

Having dipped in form recently, AFC travelled to Barnsley on Saturday to take on bottom-of-the-league Athersley Recreation in hope of putting an end to their brief winless run with a victory over a side that had conceded over 40 goals already.

But the points ended up being shared despite a host of chances going AFC's way.

Jack Warner, one of the shortest men on the pitch, was the one to finally take an aerial chance with several first-half minutes remaining, but Shane Kelsey's rebound effort after the break ensured things would remain level.

The Opposition

Stoke-based Hanley were formed in 1966 and play in the North West Counties Football League.

Currently 13th in the Premier Division, Town have had a hit-and-miss start to their 2019/20 campaign, but hope to make a cup run in the FA Vase.

Having scored just 12 goals in nine league outings, Hanley are one of the lowest scorers in their division.
