PREVIEW | Handsworth (H)

Following a postponed Saturday trip to Thackley, the Bulls hope to earn their first league win in two months when Handsworth visit the Forest Town Arena.

The two sides meet again in quick succession after drawing 2-2 at Sandy Lane in September's reverse fixture.

Second from bottom in the NCEL Premier Division, the Bulls are desperate to end their poor run of form.

Kick-off at the FTA will be 7:45pm.

Last Time Out

AFC were set for a trip up to Bradford on Saturday, but their clash with mid-table Thackley was postponed after constant downpours deemed the pitch unplayable.

The poor weather meant the Bulls couldn't immediately rectify their 2-0 defeat to Yorkshire Amateur last Tuesday night, when both Phil Buxton and Ross Duggan hit the woodwork whilst Ashley Flynn and Fernando Moke bagged on both sides of the break for the Ammers.

The Opposition

Neither AFC nor Handsworth have enjoyed the brightest of starts to their league campaigns.

The Ambers are only two places above the Bulls, in 17th, but have only played seven NCEL fixtures in total and will hope to make one of their three games-in-hand count on their visit to Nottinghamshire.

The Bulls would have been hoping to do a quick league double over their Sheffield counterparts, but a Luke Francis double in the second half dragged the Ambers back into the midweek contest at Sandy Lane after Ross Duggan and Jack Warner gave the visitors a two-goal advantage.

Like Matt Chatfield's side, Handsworth have struggled for goals, with top-scorer Leon Howarth only with three on his league tally.

Team News

After Saturday's postponement, midfielder Nicky Darker is now also unavailable for tonight's clash, as he serves his final game of suspension.
