PREVIEW | Garforth Town (H)

The Bulls hope to bounce back from a weekend defeat and earn their third win from four league outings.

Mid-table Garforth are Tuesday night's visitors to the Forest Town Arena, after the original tie was postponed back in December.

Wins against high-flying Staveley and Hemsworth helped AFC begin 2020 in the perfect fashion, but their unbeaten league run came to an end when they were beaten by Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday.

Knaresborough Town's win at Silsden means that the Bulls will remain in 18th regardless of result due to vastly inferior goal difference, but they would re-close the gap on 17th with a victory.

The game kicks off at 7:45pm.

Last Time Out

Saturday was an uphill battle for AFC for the vast majority of the contest, with defender Cameron Hough injured in the warm-up before skipper Phil Buxton saw red just 25 minutes in.

The Bulls held their own at the back up until half-time, but disaster struck when Harrison Blakey tucked home just 30 seconds into the second half.

Blakey added a second with a looping header before substitute Aiden Savory wrapped up the points late on, whilst Matt Wilson and Brandon Webster both had key chances to reduce the deficit for AFC.

The Opposition

Tuesday's visitors have had a recent upturn in fortunes in their NCEL Premier Division campaign, earning four points from a possible six with a convincing 3-0 win over Silsden before taking a point off promotion hopefuls Bridlington Town after picking up just one point from the previous five league outings.

Those results saw the Miners climb back into the top half of the table, though they remain a hefty 13 points adrift of the top three.

Club top-scorer Sean Barker poses the biggest threat to Matt Chatfield's side, with an impressive 14 league goals in 18 starts for the Miners.
