PREVIEW | Bottesford Town (H)

Matt Chatfield hopes to record a fourth home league win on the spin tomorrow afternoon upon the visit of Bottesford Town.

Victories against Staveley, Hemsworth and Garforth have extended AFC's unbeaten home run in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division to five games.

Saturday provides the opportunity to not only add onto that tally, but to take revenge for a 5-0 thrashing by their next opponents back in September.

The game kicks off at the Forest Town Arena at 3pm.

Last Time Out

The Bulls bounced back from a disappointing result up at Yorkshire Amateur last weekend to record a convincing victory over mid-table Garforth Town.

Then-ninth placed Garforth were provided with a stern test on their visit to Forest Town, and their hosts should have pulled ahead with Luke Walker hitting the post amongst a wealth of chances for the Bulls.

Grant Ryan then finally pulled his side ahead early in the second half, clinically firing low into Toby Wells' bottom corner before Ross Duggan came off the bench to lace in AFC's second on the end of a superb team move.

Man of the Match winner Morgan James then rounded off a five-star team performance by finding the top far corner on 83 minutes and send the Miners home empty-handed.

The Opposition

Saturday's clash is a huge tie for both teams, who neighbour each other in 18th and 19th position in the Premier League table, although AFC have a six-point advantage over their opponents.

With only one win in their last six compared to AFC's three, the Poachers come into the tie as underdogs, but Matt Chatfield remains well aware of the fight ahead.

Above all, the Bulls will be hungry for revenge after a 5-0 thrashing by Bottesford in their last meeting four months ago.

Team News

Despite high hopes of his dismissal being rescinded, the club's appeal to have Phil Buxton's red card from last Saturday stricken off was unsuccessful, meaning the club skipper misses out on the next three games.

On the positive side, striker Ross Duggan is expected to return to the starting eleven after several games of being sidelined with injury.
