AFC Mansfield were left frustrated as Penistone Church sealed the three points in treacherous conditions at the DSM Memorial Ground.
The Bulls were forced to play 34 minutes with ten men after recent signing Ross Duggan was shown a straight red card on the 56th minute.
This was a replay of the previously abandoned match between these two sides, after a floodlight failure caused the former match to be cancelled in the 81st minute, with the scores level at 1-1.
Penistone looked to get off to an early start in just the first two minutes, as stalwart Brett Lovell hammered a header against the Bulls crossbar from the opening corner.
Mansfield developed chances of their own however through Alfie Dodsworth, who tried his luck from distance but Chris Snaith was equal to it.
The Church were looking the more likely to score before the break, as Nathan Keightley had a huge opportunity parried by Adam Revuelta, and Jordan Coduri saw an effort rattle both posts before being scrambled clear.
Lynton Karkach had a chance of his own on the brink of half-time as he struck the ball from 30-yards out, but his audacious effort trickled wide of the target.
Heading into the second half, the wind continued to play a factor, as Jake Batty saw an effort saved by Snaith and Revuelta was forced to tip a cross over his crossbar.
Duggan was then shown a straight red card for lashing out after being previously fouled, which will see his three match ban come into place from next Wednesday onwards.
The ten men of Mansfield didn't give up however and tried their best to respond to Duggan's dismissal, as captain Thomas Cropper latched onto a free-kick but Snaith rushed out of his goal and closed the angles.
Penistone would eventually make their man advantage count, as Dan Kemp met a splitting pass and calmly slid the ball past Revuelta to place the home side in the driving seat.
With minutes remaining on the clock and the Bulls running out of time, their frustrations grew as Cropper surged forward and received the ball from Dodsworth, but he couldn't keep his effort at bay and it sailed over the bar.
AFC Mansfield are next in action on Saturday, as Phil Buxton's side welcome Hemsworth Miners to the Forest Town Arena. Ticketing details will be posted on the social media channels in due course.
