AFC Mansfield 2 – 1 Sherwood Colliery

Ex Bulls Manager Micky Taylor returned to The Forest Town Arena with his Sherwood Colliery Vets side for a top of the table clash.  Unfortunately, The Bulls legendary manager went away empty handed as the home side came from behind to take the points.

Sherwood went in front from a curling free kick from 20 yards out which beat stand in keeper Lee Smith.

Less than 10 minutes later and the home side were back on level terms when Mark Carter headed home in the 6-yard box from a left-wing cross.

The Bulls took the lead before the break when a mix-up at the back for Sherwood allowed Carter to feed Clive Wakefield and the defender took the ball past Sherwood keeper Wayne Savage to put the home side in front with which turned out to be the winning goal.

The second half saw both sides trying to get the next goal, but with no further score The Bulls remain top of the league.
