AFC Mansfield welcomed fellow Nottinghamshire side Hucknall Town to the Forest Town Arena in front of a crowd of 165 supporters.

The Bulls were in good spirits heading into the game, but former AFC Mansfield player Jonathan D'Laryea and former manager Rudy Funk returned to guide Hucknall Town to victory, with the visitors leaving the Forest Town Arena with all three points.

However, it was the Bulls who arguably made the brighter start. In the 13th minute, Max Taylor came close to opening the scoring, but his header drifted just over the crossbar.

Despite AFC Mansfield's positive start, it was Hucknall Town who took the lead. After a skirmish on the floor, Gabriel Ebede stroked a right-footed shot into the bottom corner to give the visitors the advantage.

Shortly after the half-hour mark, Charlie Taylor was shown a yellow card following a hard challenge.

With the Bulls heading into the break, they had a lot of work to do after trailing 1-0 at half-time.

Frustrations began to grow for the hosts as the Bulls continued to search for an equaliser.

However, Hucknall Town doubled their lead when Callum Orange found the back of the net with a well-taken finish, leaving the Bulls with an even bigger mountain to climb.

It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for the Bulls, who were left to reflect on a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the Forest Town Arena.
