The Bulls led through a Sam Ackroyd penalty, before Shirebrook hit back to lead 2-1 before half-time. A resergent Bulls raced into a 4-2 lead in the second half with a goal from 19 year old Riley Barratt and a brace from 17 year old NEFA Academy player Jack Allen. Our opponents scored at the death to make it 4-3.
This now concludes pre-season, with two wins, two draws and one defeat. 14 goals for, 8 goals against. Sam Ackroyd the top bagsman with four goals in the five games.
NEFA U18s (AFC Mansfield Reserves) 3 Parkgate Reserves 4
Plenty of goals for our reserves largely made up of 16 year olds also played in Rotherham this afternoon. After going in at the break 3-0 down, they showed massive character to push Parkgate Reserves, and eventually lost 3-4. A very good performance for the lads testing themselves against adult sides this pre-season. Goals from Jayden Dennis (2) and Jensen Murr.
