CLUB STATEMENT: Phil Buxton named Bulls Manager

The Bulls are delighted to announce that club legend Phil Buxton will return as manager until the end of the season.

Buxton has made over 300 appearances for the club, helping the Bulls rise up the leagues and gaining promotion from the NCEL Division One back in 2016.

Phil Buxton first joined AFC Mansfield as a player back in 2012 and has gone on to have a decorated non-league career.

This marks Bucko's second term in charge of the Bulls having managed AFC Mansfield last season but left the club following a takeover, leaving the club in sixteenth place in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

In a short statement, AFC Mansfield chairman Mike Abbs said "I am delighted to welcome Bucko back to the FTA he is someone who knows the club very well and is a personal friend of mine"

News on Bucko's backroom staff will be announced in the coming days.

Bucko's first game in charge will be in a must-win tie with Heather st John's on Saturday at the Forest Town Arena.
