Bulls give in to hardworking Harworth Colliery side.

A defensive error leads to a Bulls defeat by hard-working Central Midland League side Harworth Colliery which marked new Bulls boss Phil Buxton's second defeat of preseason.


The Bulls arguably started the better side in the first forty-five, carving out an early opportunity when defensive player Jack Gibb's long ball found the head of striker Luke Walker who just nodded it over the bar.



With the Bulls growing in confidence there were some really excellent link-up play from AFC Mansfield.


A Stunning ball from young defender Kasper Rajter once again finds Jack Gibbs on the left hand of the pitch who sent an inviting ball into Haworth's penalty area which ultimately came to nothing.


Midfielder and club legend Jon D'Laryea was the at the centre of everything that was good for AFC presenting a calm natured presence in the middle of the park,


topping of a decent first half performance with a short corner straight from the training ground. D'Laryea,


JD and fellow Midfielder Tom Cropper bamboozling the Harworth defence which unfortunately fizzled out shortly after.


Things took a turn for the worse shortly after the break for the Bulls after an defensive mix-up opened things up for Harworth which they took full advantage of,


With a rocket of a strike from Callum Brooks hitting the roof of the Bulls net.



AFC continued to struggle to recover from Harworth's hammer blow with Boss Phil Buxton making a number of substitutions to try and turn things around shortly after,


With attacking play-maker Sketchley way wood strike sailing over the bar on the seventy five minute mark.


The game continued to be a very tight affair as the game entered it's final stages, with AFC pushing for an equaliser with the Bulls once again finding themselves in a fair amount of possession,


Kofi Appiah played a inviting ball to find Luke Walker who fired off a shot for the bulls last chance of the game which went agonizingly wide of the Harworth's keeper post.


The final whistle was blown marking another preseason defeat for Phil Buxton's AFC side. AFC now host Carlton Palmer's Grantham Town in the third round of friendly's on Tuesday 13 July.
