Bulls end pre-season with heavy Pitmen defeat

AFC were powerless to resist a strong Hednesford Town outfit who went on to thrash the Bulls 7-1.

Tom Slone bagged his first goal in a Bulls shirt after Hednesford's Elliot had put the visitors into the lead. Only minutes later, however, did former AFC strikers Brad and Kieran Wells bag a goal each to give their side a comfortable lead at the break. The floodgates opened in the second half, as the Pitmen ramped up the pressure and forced another four goals past Hugo Warhurst. Osebi Abadaki scored twice in the second 45 for the Pitmen, on either side of goals from Izak Reid and Kristian Scott. After holding a 100 per cent record going into the final pre-season fixture, the Bulls taste defeat for the first time under Matt Chatfield on the eve of the new season. The Bulls host Knaresborough Town on the opening day of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division campaign this Saturday at the Forest Town Arena, kicking off at 3pm.
