Wrens the next pre-season opponent for AFC

Matt Chatfield's men hope to make it two wins from two, as they visit another local rival for their second pre-season fixture.

Rainworth Miners Welfare host the Bulls at Kirklington Road at 7:45pm tonight, hoping to avenge an FA Vase defeat from last season.

AFC came from two goals behind to beat Rainworth 3-2 at the Forest Town Arena in one of the most entertaining fixtures of the 2019/20 season, with Jordan Annable, Ross Duggan and Brandon Webster on the score sheet.

After 144 days without a single game of football, Matt Chatfield's side commenced pre-season preparations with a 6-1 win at Clipstone on Saturday afternoon.

New arrival Ben Algar and Ross Duggan both grabbed braces in the first half, before the U21s' Owen Clarke curled home a stunning fifth and Morgan James completed the rout from the spot.

Due to current government restrictions regarding COVID-19, the fixture at Kirklington Road will be held behind closed doors.
