Assistant manager Mark Ward was delighted with the spirited and gut-busting performance which earned his AFC Mansfield side a huge win at Lincoln United.
Joe Iaciofano's five-minute hat-trick turned the game on its head after Andy Hutchinson's early opener, and the Bulls fought hard to maintain their lead and see out the win.
"It was probably our best performance of the season as a team," Ward said post-match, "the decision-making was quality, we turned them when we had to and we played when we could. Everything fell into place.
"We went one-nil down as we switched off and we got punished like we have been doing all season, but the lads reacted brilliantly and their work rate and endeavour are what won us the game today.
Rudy Funk's assistant was very pleased with Northampton Town youngsters Joe Iaciofano and Sean Whaler, who now head back to their parent clubs at the end of their short loan spell.
"Joe's been quality since he came in, both of the lads have great attitudes and hopefully we can persuade them to stay, but I think them coming in has given the lads a raise in confidence.
"When you've got someone like Sean with his pace and directness, and someone like Joe who can stick the ball in the net, it's massive for us because we've created the chances for most of the season but have not been able to that."
Although Ward is hopeful that the two youngsters could stay for a little while longer, he remains confident that his side can keep on winning if the duo are not to return to the Forest Town Arena.
"The performances have been there before... I think now when we look at the bench we have options to change the game with as well when it's not going right."
