REPORT | Bulls 0-2 Yorkshire Amateur

AFC suffered a third straight league defeat in the space of a week after high flyers Yorkshire Amateur coasted to fifth away victory from five.

The Bulls tested their visitors in the first half but Ashley Flynn's toe poke snatched the lead just before the break, before the striker teed up Fernando Moke for the Ammers' second to kill the tie in the second half.

With virtually the first chance of the game the visitors probably should have hauled ahead, but Steven Crawford could only hit the post after a defensive error allowed the midfielder in one-on-one with Hugo Warhurst.

The electric pace of Leon Henry then opened up a second opportunity for the Ammers, with Slone only just able to scramble clear his dangerous low cross before Ross Daly laced a rebound just wide.

Shortly after Ross Duggan blasted over a short-taken free-kick with the first half-chance for the Bulls, strike partner Grant Ryan had an even bigger chance but couldn't direct Jordan Annable's deep cross on target from 10 yards out.

After an uneventful period soaked up the rest of the first half, Ishmael Dawson almost drew the Bulls level with a few second-half minutes played, but he couldn't convert Duggan's cross into the back stick.

At the other end, goal-scorer Flynn almost added a second when his free-kick skimmed Warhurst's crossbar from 25 yards.

A minute later Flynn had himself another opportunity, this time from a narrow angle after winning the ball but he could only drive straight into the arms of Warhurst.

As the minutes passed AFC began to grow back into the tie, and woodwork was once again their arch-adversary as Buxton's deflected effort on goal crashed off the post.

The frustration then began to really set in for the Bulls, when Fernando Moke tapped home into an empty net after being teed up by fellow goal-scorer Flynn on the counter.

The second goal appeared to be a killer blow, but the visitors continued to look for more, and almost found a third when Matt Sykes's volleyed rocket was punched clear at full stretch by Warhurst when it appeared to be heading for his top corner.

AFC's luck of late was represented perfectly in the dying moments - Ross Duggan did everything right to set himself up as he cut past his man on the right side of the penalty area, but his powerful strike ricocheted off the crossbar to add yet another woodwork effort to his tally.

The defeat condemned the Bulls to their seventh league outing without a single victory, whilst the visitors maintain their 100% away record.
