AFC Mansfield booked a home tie against Linby CW in the 3rd Round of the League Challenge Cup with a 4-1 away win over Mickleover Royals at the Raygar Stadium on Wednesday night.
How the game wasn't over and done with in the first 45 minutes was down to Mickleover keeper Ash Warner who produced save after save to keep 'The Bulls' at bay.
2 goals in the first 5 minutes from Callum Green and Joe Naylor threatened to open the floodgates but Warner performed heroics to keep his side in it. When Dan Dolby pulled a goal back 7 minutes from the break the home side still had something to play for.
The Royals came out in determined mood and took the game to AFC and although Dale Sheppard in the visitors goal had very little to do, possession belonged to Mickleover in the early encounters.
'The Bulls', however, weathered the storm and finished the stronger with goals from Danny Tighe from the spot after Joe Naylor had been bundled over in the box and then a second from Callum Green who lifted the ball over the advancing Warner to seal the win.
