AFC Mansfield were edged out of this encounter courtesy of a Bryan Hughes header in the second half.

AFC Mansfield unveiled new Captain Chris Timmons before the game.  Chris has a wealth of knowledge about the game and with football league experience will be a great asset to 'The Bulls' push for promotion.

'The Bulls' came to the rescue when Scarborough's kit man got lost in transit and the visitors played the first half in AFC Mansfield's away strip.

Playing a side 3 levels above them in the pyramid 'The Bulls' can hold their heads up high as the difference between the two sides at times was difficult to spot.

In fact had it not been for some excellent saves from keeper Jason White it could have been even better for the Mansfield side.  White's full length dive that saw him tip Dean Rick's goalbound drive onto the post being the stand out moment.

Scarborough Manager Rudy Funk deployed two different squads for each half and AFC Manager Micky Taylor had a look at 17 players throughout the game.

A crowd of around 200 basked in the sunshine and were treated to some top quality football from both sides.

The visitors had a chance headed of fthe line and White was on hand again to deny Rick's rasping drive late on in the game.
